Applications require submission of the most recent Council on Occupational Education or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education accreditation status and proof of liability insurance meeting Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance minimums.
Reviewers examine whether the applicant has secured clinical-site agreements with Tennessee hospitals or physician practices and can document available instructional space that meets Tennessee Board of Regents facility standards. Readiness documentation must also include instructor credentials verified through the Tennessee Department of Health’s licensure lookup. Budgets are restricted to equipment and certification exam fees aligned with Tennessee’s approved health IT competency lists.
The Tennessee Health Tech Training program structure satisfies these requirements by sequencing blended instruction through existing Tennessee community college course shells and scheduling certification exams at approved Pearson VUE sites inside the state.
