Funding for Programs Promoting Children’s Educational Well-Being in Tennessee (USA)
GrantID: 75072
Grant Funding Amount Low: $5,000
Deadline: Ongoing
Grant Amount High: $50,000
Summary
This grant opportunity supports nonprofit projects aimed at improving life literacy among children, youth, and adults. Life literacy refers broadly to skills and knowledge that contribute to economic, social, cultural, and educational well‑being—things like financial decision‑making, healthy habits and preventive healthcare, nutrition, early childhood education (birth to age 5), reading and literacy, household management, civic engagement, and similar areas.
Grants are available only to nonprofit organizations. Projects should address currently unmet needs (so proposals for programs already funded through general operating budgets are not eligible). Collaboration is encouraged—having at least two or more organizations partnering in the proposal is preferred. Applicants must also provide a match of at least 20% of the requested funds (which may be cash, in‑kind goods or services, or both). Demonstrable impact (using both quantitative and qualitative metrics) and a sustainability plan beyond the two‑year grant are also required.
The funding range is from $5,000 to $50,000, with grants awarded for a two‑year term (November 1, 2025 through October 31, 2027). Applications open in mid‑August and close mid‑September. Decisions are made in November.
The goal is to enable programs that enhance the quality of life: promoting skills and knowledge that give residents more opportunities, strengthen civic engagement, and improve well‑being across social, educational, financial, and health domains.
