Despite this knowledge, advocacy for tree canopies remains fragmented across communities. Bridging the gaps between various interests and mobilizing diverse voices for a common goal is essential to enhance Tennessee’s urban environments by increasing tree coverage and fostering communal responsibility.
The inability to unite various community factionsfrom environmental advocates to business leadersplaces a significant barrier against effective urban tree advocacy. Many community members feel disconnected from initiatives, leading to low engagement levels in local urban forestry projects.
