Summary

This grant program supports nonprofit organizations based in a defined region of Middle Tennessee, especially Nashville and surrounding areas. The opportunity is designed to help organizations that serve the local Jewish community or are connected with Jewish communal life, both locally and worldwide. The funding mission includes nurturing connection, identity, education, social welfare, and global Jewish engagement.

Eligible applicants are nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations (or equivalent) whose programming benefits the local Jewish community—or in some cases, supports Jewish projects abroad. Individuals and for‑profit businesses are not the primary audience. The program favors organizations whose work addresses communal needs such as young families, single adults, mental health, community cohesion, and global Jewish partnership.

The funds are intended to be used for programmatic purposes—supporting initiatives such as camps, youth exchange, Israel travel incentive grants, community‑building events, Jewish identity programs, local outreach, and global partnerships. The funding is less oriented toward large capital campaigns and more toward strengthening programmatic work, encouraging connection, and enabling meaningful impact across generations.

Grant amounts vary, and the organization offers multiple programs under one umbrella—ranging from camp scholarships for youth, incentive grants for student travel and exchange, to emergent‑needs grants for community agencies. Applications are accepted in rolling or quarterly cycles (or annual cycles depending on the program). For the emergent‑needs program, applications are reviewed quarterly. For other categories, applications follow an annual deadline, with one major award cycle per year.

If you’re a nonprofit organization serving the Jewish community in Middle Tennessee (or working globally in partnership with that community) and you have a program that builds identity, connection, education, or global partnership, this opportunity may be a strong fit. It is particularly apt for groups seeking support for programming rather than large infrastructure projects.
